"The café has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and is a nice spot for chatting, although the space may feel a little tight for larger groups. Service was excellent throughout. The barista was attentive and even offered to replace my drink when I mentioned the issue. I tried three items: Iced matcha latte, RM18 Smooth and easy to drink, but the matcha flavour was quite mild for the price. A slightly higher matcha concentration would give it more depth and make it feel more worthwhile. Coconut latte, around RM17–18 This was the weakest item for me. It had a noticeably sour taste, likely because it was made using coconut water mixed with cream. The barista kindly offered to remake it, but I declined as the same ingredients would probably produce a similar result. I think coconut milk would work much better and give the drink a creamier, more balanced coconut flavour. Wagyu hamburg rice The presentation was appealing, and the daikon garnish added a refreshing element. Unfortunately, the wagyu patty was quite burnt on the outside and dry inside. Cooking it for slightly less time, or keeping the centre juicier, would improve the dish significantly. Overall, the café has good vibes and genuinely good service. There is potential in the menu, but the drinks and hamburg could benefit from some adjustments to the recipes and cooking consistency."

"Been coming to this cafe for years now and my go to order is always the salmon wholewheat benedict! What sets this apart from the usual eggs benedict is the addition of coconut nectar, which adds a touch of sweetness that complements well with the savoury flavors. Loved that they used half-boiled eggs instead of the traditional poached eggs. The yolk is creamier this way which I personally prefer. The crust of the bread was chewy and was perfect for me as I love bread with a bit more texture! Their original burnt cheesecake is really good too! The texture is perfect, where the center is still really creamy. Tried the pistachio cheesecake this time but wasn’t a fan as the pistachio flavor was pretty subtle."

"Cozy cafe with amazing food and coffee 28 Fireplace is such a charming spot in Ampang. The atmosphere is cozy, with soft Japanese easy-listening music playing in the background, making it a perfect place to relax over good food and vibrant coffee. We tried the Fireplace Egg Benedict, and it was excellent—the smoked salmon was thick and well-prepared, paired beautifully with avocado and sourdough toast that had just the right texture. The eggs were perfectly runny, tying everything together into a delicious bite. The highlight, though, was the Pandan Coconut Waffle. Crispy on the outside yet easy to cut, it stayed tasty even after cooling down. Paired with pandan coconut kaya, it was simply the best waffle we’ve had so far. Strong medium roast coffee, cozy vibes, and standout dishes—28 Fireplace is definitely worth a visit."
